One more
time

The Goodnews River still holds a large population of King Salmon. The lodge is located right at the upper end of the Tidewater – seven miles from Goodnews Bay, where the river flows into the Bering Sea.

The kings I'm catching are often truly chrome-colored and covered in sea lice. The fish are fresh and spirited, challenging angling skills. Fishing for kings has been really good.

HOOKED UP

Every day, I had a few hook-ups and landed some good king salmon. My largest catches were a 40-pounder and a 45-pounder, and I have to say, they are truly fierce fighters. Fishing for leopard trout and grayling in the upper part of the river is also very good. Goodnews – I'll be back!
