The second week on Providence coincided with spring tides. Unfortunately, the bumpheads were hardly showing on the flats. Every now and then we managed to spot a few, but most of them were already holding in deeper water and proved difficult to target.
On the other hand, the GT and triggerfish fishing developed into absolute high-end fishing. During the week, we landed five GTs over one metre, including two fish measuring 122 cm, one at 118 cm and another at 114 cm. Several true trophy fish in just one week – something you certainly don’t experience every day. On top of that, we also landed several more GTs in the 90 cm-plus range.
